Dear Friends of The Philadelphia Chapter of the American Composers Forum (ACF Philadelphia):

The ACF Philadelphia Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Dustin Hurt as Chapter Director and Bill Rhoads and Stanford Thompson as Co-Chairs of the Board of Directors. 

Dustin Hurt is best known as the Founder and Executive Director of Bowerbird, a Philadelphia based concert series that presents approximately 40 concerts a year season. Bowerbird has received critical acclaim for its multi-event retrospectives of composers Julius Eastman, Morton Feldman, Maryanne Amacher, and George Crumb. Dustin also serves as the Co-Founder and Executive Director of the Arcana New Music Ensemble, a Philadelphia-based contemporary music ensemble.  His contact information can be found here.

Stanford Thompson has served on the ACF Philadelphia Board of Directors since 2011 and has been Chairman since 2016. As a musician and educator, Stanford is passionate about using music for social change through his work as Founder and Executive Director of Play On Philly. Joining him as Co-Chairman, BillRhoads, recently joined the Board of Directors and brings a steadfast dedication to ACF Philadelphia’s mission.

A twenty-five year veteran of the performing arts, Bill Rhoads has enjoyed a many-faceted career as a publishing, production, recording, programming, and marketing executive. He earned his undergraduate degree in music composition and philosophy from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Following which he led a variety of arts-focused businesses and organizations, including Carl Fischer, Orchestra of St.Luke’s, Bill Rhoads Associates, The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, Steven R. Gerber Trust, and Esperanza Arts Center.
