Request for Proposals: Composer-Community Partner Projects
Steven R. Gerber Neighborhood Composer Residency

American Composers Forum, Philadelphia Chapter (ACF Philadelphia) is seeking proposals from composers and community organizations for the "Steven R. Gerber Neighborhood Composer Residency" - for projects that center community participation and engagement in the creation and performance of music.
Selected proposals will receive awards of up to $7,500 and must take place between June 1, 2022 and September 15, 2023.
The proposed projects must be led by a composer / music creator based in the Philadelphia area (within 50 miles of Philadelphia City Hall) and hosted by a community organization within the same geographic area. Artists of all career points, backgrounds, genres/styles are encouraged to apply. Organizations should be community based / focused and have a track record of engaging the public beyond concert attendance. Proposals must name both a composer and an organization. Composers or organizations with project ideas, but still looking for potential partners may contact Dustin Hurt, ACF Philadelphia Chapter Director at dustin@acfphiladelphia.org for suggestions.
This brief initial inquiry application consists of the following components:
The composer name and contact info
The community organization's name and contact info
A brief description (500 words or less) of the project and how the community will be engaged and reflected in the new work
Request for Proposals due December 15, 2021 at 11:59pm EST.
TIMELINE
